Be an Ongo Digital Tenant

Do you want to be an Ongo Digital Tenant and receive a free tablet?

We are always looking for new ways of gathering feedback and we are looking for tenants to participate in our Digital Tenant programme to help us develop our digital channels.

If you become an Ongo Digital Tenant, you will receive a tablet free of charge which you can use if you want to know something about, or do something with, your home and your Ongo tenancy.

In exchange, we want to hear from you on a quarterly basis about your experience using our online channels and how you think we could improve them. This could be through online surveys, chat groups, Facebook groups and face-to-face focus groups and we will always aim to mix these up to make sure that you can participate regularly.

As a Digital Tenant, we would expect you to use any of our digital channels as your first point of call when you need to contact us. The online Ongo channels you would use as a Digital Tenant would be:

  • the website: ongo.co.uk – this has a wealth of information on and answers a lot of questions, so give this a go first
  • My Home: ongo.co.uk – you can book repairs, view your balance, download rent statements and much more on here
  • social media: com/OngoHomes and twitter.com/ongouk – if you can’t find what you’re looking for on our website, send us a message on Facebook and Twitter
  • Live chat: ongo.co.uk/chat - you can chat to one of our advisors during office hours
  • Email: enquiries@ongo.co.uk – if you do email us, please make sure to include your full name, address and date of birth, so we can help you quickly.

Eligibility criteria

If you would like to be one of our Digital Tenants you must:

  • be aged 18 or over
  • a current Ongo tenant named on the tenancy
  • have access to wifi on a regular basis
  • not be in arrears of more than one months' rent

We only have a limited amount of spaces available on the tester panel and all applications will be subject to a criteria check.

Frequently asked questions

I have already applied, should I fill out the form again?
No, if we have your details then you don't need to fill out the form again. We regularly have new tablets available, so we regularly look at our list and use those details to contact tenants to become digital tenants. 

Can I still call you?
We would expect that you try our digital channels first. If you have tried and still need help, then you can call on of our advisors – where possible they will help you to complete your request online at the first instance.

What if I move out?
If you move out before the end of the two year programme, we ask that you return the tablet to us so that we can give another tenant the opportunity to participate.

I have lost or broken my tablet, what do I do?
We ask that you look after your tablet, unfortunately we cannot replace if it’s lost or broken.

My tablet doesn’t work, can you help?
If you are struggling to use the tablet, please contact the Customer Engagement team at the first instance by emailing customer.engagement@ongo.co.uk, so they can offer support.

If there is a software issue, our Customer Engagement team will see if there is any ICT support available. However, if the tablet is not working because it is damaged or beyond repair, you will be asked to have this fixed yourself and no replacement tablet will be given.

I haven’t got any internet access, can you help?
Before entering onto this programme, you will need to confirm that you have access to wifi. This can be at home or at a place near you such as the library, Ongo House, at a family member’s house or any other location with free wifi. The tablets do not come with data and we will not provide internet access through this programme.

I don’t understand how to use your digital channels, can you help?
At the start of the programme, you will be offered a training session at Ongo House to get familiar with our digital channels. Additional support can be requested via the Customer Engagement team when needed.

Can I keep the tablet?
If after two years, you have regularly participated in our feedback sessions then you can keep the tablet.

The legal bits

If you decide to become a Digital Tenant, we will ask you to sign an agreement, a copy of which you can find here.

We will gift you a tablet in good working order but please note that some of the tablets might have been used before and we makes no express or implied warranties as to the condition or performance of the tablet.

Should the tablet break or be lost, we will not be able to provide you with a replacement.

Repairs update 24 March 2020
