Recycling week at Ongo

Staff and residents have been celebrating National Recycling Week with events throughout the area.

National Recycling Week aims to raise awareness about the importance of recycling and the difference it makes to the environment.

During the week, sessions were held at Wold Court, Wrawby, School Close, Epworth, and Lincoln Court, Scunthorpe. This included online games and other fun ways to learn about recycling.

Information stands were also set up at our Customer Centre on Cole Street, Scunthorpe, and our second hand furniture store, Choose to Reuse on Enderby Road, Scunthorpe. Choose to Reuse has an ongoing commitment to recycling. So far this year it has saved 22 tonnes from landfill sites.

Coral Stamp, Health and Safety Assistant at Ongo, said: “National Recycling Week has been a great success. We’ve not only been able to engage with our residents but also with members of our staff.

This campaign fits in perfectly with our environmental #OngoGoGreen project which launched at this year’s Ongo Carnival. Throughout the year we will be continuing with our commitment to raise awareness about the environment.
