Ongo takes on Pretty Muddy

Thirteen Ongo staff will be taking part in the Lincoln Pretty Muddy 5km fundraiser on Saturday 1 October 2016.

This event is organised by Cancer Research and raises vital funds to go towards research for over 200 types of cancer.

Pretty Muddy is described as a muddy obstacle course over a 5k route suitable for women of all abilities.

The Lincoln Pretty Muddy takes place at the Lincolnshire Showground and a big turnout is expected. In 2015, the Cancer Research Race for Life took place in Lincoln with almost 2000 women taking part raising £100,000. The organisers are this year aiming for 4,500 women and girls to take part in the challenge.

Lauren Robinson, HR Assistant at Ongo, said: “It’s great to see a big team of Ongo staff coming together to take on the Pretty Muddy challenge. Cancer Research is a charity that supports so many people, and lots of staff here at Ongo will have been affected by cancer at some point during their lives. So to have the chance to raise money for this charity was something we definitely wanted to get involved in.

“We’ve entered teams in other fundraising events before such as the Lindsey Lodge Dubble Bubble, Sunset Stride and the Cancer Research Race for Life so we’re all really looking forward to this new challenge.

“Giving back to the community is at the heart of everything Ongo does, so raising money for a charity that supports so many people, ties in perfectly with what we’re all about as a company.”
