£3.5 million project underway

We have started preparing for a £3.5 million project to completely regenerate the Albert Marson Court area in Scunthorpe.

Still in its early stages, a public consultation event will be taking place at Glenny’s Bar, Cottage Beck Road, Scunthorpe, on Wednesday 14 September 2016 between 3pm and 6pm.

This will be a public event to seek views and comments from neighbours and interested parties with an aim to present the proposal for planning permission before the end of the year.

The current proposals for the redevelopment of the Albert Marson Court area are to replace the flats with new three-bedroom and four-bedroom houses, subject to planning permission being granted.  The new homes will look to vastly improve the area and provide much needed affordable homes.

Martin Phillips, Development Manager said: “There is a demand for housing in this area of Scunthorpe so for us to have the opportunity to build new homes and really improve the area is a brilliant way to reinforce Ongo’s commitment to supporting the local community.

“We’re hoping to speak with lots of local residents and get a really clear idea of what is important to them when we’re regenerating the area.”
