£1,500 fundraiser for local charities

More than £1,500 has been raised for two local charities - Scunthorpe Samaritans and Lindsey Lodge Hospice.

The money was raised at two popular local events, the Ongo Carnival and the Lindsey Lodge Dubble Bubble.

Each year at the Ongo Carnvial, catering vans are charged for their pitch and this money is donated to charity. This year we chose to donate the £240 raised to Scunthorpe Samaritans.

In August, thirty seven of our staff members took on the Dubble Bubble challenge and raised £1,500 for Lindsey Lodge Hospice. They help to provide care for people living with life-limiting conditions.

Wendy Wolfe, Customer Engagement Manager at Ongo said: “We’re so pleased at the huge amount of money we’ve managed to raise. It means a lot to us to be able to give back to our local community.

“We’ve been able to donate over £1,500 to two amazing charities that make a huge difference to people living in our area.”
