Halloween fun at The Arc

A fun, free Halloween themed event took place at The Arc in Westcliff, Scunthorpe on Tuesday 30 October.

The event ran between 3.00pm-5.30pm, and aimed to mix Halloween fun with healthy activities to promote living a healthy lifestyle along with having fun.

Over 50 people attended, enjoying arts and crafts, games, cake decorating as well as learning about the importance of being healthy.

Attending the event were Safer Neighbourhoods, The Community Dental Service, North Lincolnshire Council Lifestyle Service, Virgincare NHS, Family Information Services and Adult information services, Carers Support Service, Delta –Young Peoples drug and alcohol services, Community Oral Health Care to encourage families to make healthier lifestyle choices as well as the importance of being a good neighbour at Halloween.

Fran Rhodes, Community Regeneration Coordinator, said: “We’ve really enjoyed our first Halloween themed event here at The Arc. It was great to see so many families come along to enjoy everything we’d organised.

“The Community Dental Service has given out over 40 toothbrush packs for the youngsters visiting today. They’re working hard to encourage them to be healthy, even at times like Halloween when there are lots of sweets on offer.

The cafe was also open, serving a whole range of Halloween themed treats and drinks, along with us and Westcliff Community Works staff on hand to offer housing, employment and training advice to local residents.
