Celebrating the Festival of Skills

Our Employment Support Team is getting ready to host an open office event as part of this year’s Festival of Skills month.

The event will take place on Friday 14 October 2016 from 10am to 12pm with free tea, coffee and plenty of cake.

The aim of the event is to take people on ‘The Ongo Journey to Work’.

This explains how each part of the team works and how they help to get people into employment. The event will also showcase the positive impact that the team’s work has on the local community.

In the last 12 months, over 600 people in North Lincolnshire have accessed support in employment, training or voluntary positions thanks to the ‘Ongo Journey to Work’.

The team developed this unique concept which can be tailored depending on people’s needs in looking for work.

Hayley Cullen, Ongo's Employment Support Team Manager, said “This event is a great opportunity for us to show people what we do and more importantly how we can help them.

“Since April 2016  our team has supported over 150 people into employment across North Lincolnshire.

“By taking people on the ‘Ongo Journey to Work, we can explain how we help to break down barriers they may have that stop them getting into employment. Those barriers can range from CV writing, to filling out an application form, to training, to interview preparation; all of which we specialise in."
