We are best large social landlord of the year

Last night at the Housing Excellence Awards, we were named best Large Social Landlord of the year - an achievement everyone here at Ongo is very proud of.

There were two other associations up for the award, which was one of 18 categories at the awards evening held at the Palace Hotel in Manchester. Other categories included Contractor of the Year, Best IT System, Best Regeneration Scheme and Sheltered Scheme of the Year.

The awards were judged by a panel of industry experts who were looking for things that made organisations stand out in the work they’re doing.

Andy Orrey, Chief Executive at Ongo, was delighted with the result: “I’m so proud of all the staff here at Ongo and for them to get this external recognition is brilliant.

“All the teams here are so passionate about the work they do and they work hard every day to provide great services for our customers. To be named best large social landlord really is testament to the staff here and how they go above and beyond every day.”

Janet Hale, Director of Pilkington Hale Partnership and former CIH President, said: “We chose Ongo because, at a time when there are significant challenges for the sector, they’ve been using creative thinking and partnership working to add services to their portfolio, particularly within the community section of their business.”

You can find out more information about the awards on the Housing Excellence website.
