We win national housing awards
Two of our teams scooped national awards at the Inside Housing Housing Heroes awards last night.
Our Maintenance Team won the ‘Development or Maintenance team of the year’ award and beat tough competition from other well known housing organisations including Housing & Care 21, Soha Housing and Stockport Homes.
The Customer Service Team was also successful in winning their category, ‘Frontline Team of the Year’. They were up against organisations including Peabody, Great Places Housing Group and Housing & Care 21.
The Housing Heroes awards are considered ‘the’ awards within the housing sector and aim to showcase the brilliant work going on within housing, and to highlight organisations and teams doing great things.
Karen Cowan, Head of Customer and Support Services, is very proud of her team being crowned winners: “It’s absolutely fantastic news that the Customer Services Team has won this award. The team work so hard every day and to get national recognition is amazing.
“A huge well done to the whole team for this brilliant achievement, they were up against some tough competition in their category. To be shortlisted was great recognition but to actually win was amazing.”
Neil Keay, Head of Maintenance, was also delighted with the result for his team: “To win Maintenance Team of the Year is an amazing achievement for our team. As well as providing a high quality service to our customers, the team always goes above and beyond in supporting the community. I think it was this that gave us the edge in our award entry. They will volunteer to support community events and charity fundraisers as well as helping out at annual Ongo events.
“These awards are brilliant for showing off the fantastic work going on within the housing sector and there’s definitely some great stuff going on, for everyone involved to be proud of. I’m certainly proud of my team for getting the recognition they deserve.”
