The Arc shines this Christmas
On Friday 28 November, The Arc in Westcliff, Scunthorpe held a Christmas light switch on and Christmas craft fair to kick off their month of festive events.
Over 100 local people attended the event, which included a visit from Ongo Bear and Mrs Claus. The craft fair included creations ranging from handmade decorative wooden Christmas trees to jewellery and knitted blankets. There were 13 stalls in total.
In addition, attendees could also enter a raffle, as well as a competition to win two Scunthorpe Rugby season tickets as part of a partnership between Ongo and the Club.
The Arc Café served lots of festive treats throughout the event, including pulled pork, sausage sandwiches, hot chocolate and alcohol-free mulled wine.
There are more festive activities planned at The Arc in the run up to Christmas including breakfast with Santa, Christmas crafts and games.
Victoria Bradshaw, Arc team leader, said “It was amazing to see such a good turnout again this year, we know it’s an event that the local community really enjoys and it’s nice to see lots of people getting together and feeling festive.
“It’s important to us to host events like this, not only to bring the community together, but also to introduce new people to The Arc that might not know what we do here or what support they can get from visiting us.
“We’ve got lots more planned and there’ll be loads going on in 2026 too, so if you’d like to know more why not call in to see what we do.”
We wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who came along to the event and got involved, including our volunteers and craft stall holders, it was a great success. Thank you to Jewson’s, Scunthorpe, who donated lighting and barriers, Graytons Ltd for delivering the Christmas tree, Taylors Butchers for donating pork joints and Aleyshia Chocholko for being Mrs Claus.
