We raised over £7,500 for charity in 2017
Staff and tenants have again raised thousands of pounds for charities throughout 2017.
Lindsey Lodge Hospice, The Forge, Samaritans and Cancer Research have received donations, along with several others including, Marie Curie, Sue Ryder and the local food bank.
Some of the different ways staff and tenants have raised money are through supporting national campaigns like Wear it pink for Breast Cancer Now, Macmillan coffee mornings, Movember and tenant fundraising events.
One of the biggest cash donations came from a team of sixteen of our staff members that took part in Pretty Muddy for Cancer Research back in June. But, overall the charity to receive the most donations in 2017 was Lindsey Lodge Hospice.
Andy Hirst, Corporate Fundraising & Events Co-ordinator, said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Ongo for their support over the last 12 months. They’ve donated over £2,242, through a whole host of fundraising activities, which have been a real community effort.”
He added: “We were delighted to welcome some of the Ongo team to Lindsey Lodge Hospice recently, to say a formal thank you for donating over £10,000 over the years.
“It was really great to show them that their fundraising efforts really do make a difference and help us to continue to deliver the best possible palliative care and support to our patients and their families.”
Erika Stoddart, Director of Resources here at Ongo said: “Our staff are always happy to get involved with any kind of fundraising, and it’s great to see that we’re helping to make a difference.
“At Ongo we’re not just about providing homes, we’re also about bringing communities together and helping local people. So I’m very proud that again, we’ve been able to raise a large amount to support worthy causes.
“We will continue the hard work next year, with more events already being planned in. Keep an eye on the website to find out more, and see how you might be able to get involved.”
