Digi housing award shortlist

We have been shortlisted for a TPAS award for excellence in digital involvement.

TPAS is England’s leading tenant engagement organisation who work to improve tenant engagement standards across the country.

Annually they hold awards to showcase talent across the housing sector to highlight organisations and individuals going above and beyond to provide brilliant services to tenants.

The ‘excellence in digital involvement’ award entry which Ongo has been shortlisted for focused on all the work around digital inclusion and getting our tenants online that we have been working on over the last 12 months.

It looked at the ways in which teams have worked together, along with tenant volunteers, to encourage more tenants to start using the internet – both to access Ongo services, but also to have access to the wider benefits the internet can bring.

Annie Akande, Project Manager for the Ongo digital project, is thrilled with the news. She said: “It’s brilliant the team has been acknowledged for their hard work in encouraging our tenants to get online. It really has been a team effort across the organisation, with staff from many departments getting involved and helping out at digital sessions, supporting volunteers and organising digital themed events.

“We’ve seen fantastic results, with 39% of all Ongo tenants now having an ‘Ongo My Account’ to access our services online. We’ve also supported over 400 people throughout this project to get online and learn more about using the internet. We have also made over £50,000 in cost savings from having more digital services.”

The awards event takes place in Manchester on 29 April and if Ongo is crowned winner at this Northern event, they will be entered into the national final taking place in the summer.
