Twenty five days of Christmas

We've planned 25 days of activities in the run up to Christmas to support tenants, charities and the local community.

Throughout December 2016, our staff will be getting involved in various activities including festive bake off fundraisers, collecting food for local food banks, visiting local charities to deliver festive treats, holding the Ongo Big Christmas Lunch for older residents and donating festive treats to local dog and cat rescue centres.

Nichola Hunt, Ongo's assistant to the Chief Executive and one of the organisers, said: “Every year in the run up to Christmas we like to support local people, communities and charities. This year we wanted to make it bigger than ever before. We decided to take on the challenge of a different activity each day between 1 December and 25 December.

“Lots of staff have been involved in the planning, with even more signing up to join in throughout the month. We’re hoping to put smiles on as many people’s faces as possible, and raise money for some fantastic local charities which work hard all year.

“Every year we have a big Christmas raffle with the money raised going to a couple of local good causes voted for by staff. Last year we raised over £800 which was split between the SOBs charity and the local Scunthorpe Cat Rescue. We will of course be doing this again this year.”

Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages to keep up to date with the progress of our advent calendar.
