We hosted housewarming to welcome new teams, tenants and community members
We held a housewarming celebration on Tuesday 31 March to officially mark the move of our Recruitment and Skills & Personal Development (SPD) teams into our headquarters, bringing together key support services under one roof.
Although only a short distance away from their original base on Cole Street in Scunthorpe to Ongo House, the move makes it easier for customers to access employment, training and community support all in one place. Its central location in Church Square is close to local transport and car parks.
To celebrate, we invited tenants, partners, and members of the community into its newly refurbished space. Over 100 people attended, with organisations including John Leggott College, Ellgia, HSBC, Wilkin Chapman, DWP Scunthorpe, and JPS – Jewson Partnership Solutions, along with local MP Nik Dakin.
Guests enjoyed lunch and guided tours of the redesigned office space, featuring comfortable seating areas, confidential meeting pods, accessible training rooms and an improved reception space designed to provide a warm and inclusive welcome for all.
Colleagues were on hand to talk through the benefits of the move and the variety of the services on offer.
Jen’s Special Place, our Charity of the Year, was also in attendance, and a raffle held on the day raised £120 in support of their work.
Jan Williams, Head of Opportunities, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people join us to celebrate this exciting new chapter. The atmosphere was brilliant, and it really highlighted the strength of our community and the support our teams have.
“Having everyone together under one roof will allow us to collaborate more, welcome more customers into our space, and provide the very best experience for those we support.”
The teams are now fully settled in and look forward to welcoming even more customers over the coming weeks.
