Team of 27 to take on 10-mile challenge for Lindsey Lodge Hospice
A team of 27 Ongo colleagues are set to take on a 10-mile charity event, to raise money for Lindsey Lodge Hospice in Scunthorpe.
The hospice provides care for adults with life limiting illnesses with care for both day and inpatients. It is an organisation close to the hearts of many local people and one many at Ongo are keen to support.
Taking place on Friday 6 September, the Glow Walk is an annual event which encourages those signed up to light up the night with their outfits and accessories, whilst raising sponsorship to provide much-needed funds.
The walk will take place throughout Scunthorpe, with stop offs if needed and marshalled areas. There will be pre-event music and warm-ups and ways to remember loved ones with memory lanterns, candles and photos to be shared.
All ages and abilities are encouraged to get involved with a shorter five-mile route also available.
Erica Sanderson, Business Assurance and Risk Manager at Ongo who took part last year said: “It’s a great event with a fantastic atmosphere and I’m pleased so many of my colleagues are taking part again this year.
“I know firsthand the amazing and inspirational work the team at Lindsey Lodge do and why fundraising efforts like these are so important for them, so please sponsor the team if you can.
“If you’re thinking about signing up, please do. Everyone is always in high spirits, and you’ll have a fun night whilst doing some good and giving back.”
