Summer of fun at The Arc
The team at The Arc in Westcliff, Scunthorpe, have come up with a jam packed timetable of fun for the whole family to get involved in during the summer holidays.
The Arc is a well-being hub offering services to all ages including employment and training support, benefit advice, events and youth activities. There’s also a café, Post Office, free Wi-Fi and rooms to hire.
This summer, from picnics at Central Park, sports activities, youth clubs, craft workshops and their ‘big family trips’, the team have something for everyone to enjoy.
They’ve also come up with healthy eating sessions and ways to look after the environment with bug house building, moss picking, making bird feeders and visiting their allotment to grow and learn.
Lindsey Moody, Youth Mentor at The Arc said: “Activities like these always go down a storm, and it’s often because families struggle during the holidays, so are on the lookout for cheap or free things to do with the kids. That’s why it’s so important places like The Arc exist.
“Our team are loving seeing so many smiling faces enjoying themselves, and we’re all having a great time making memories. If you’d like to join in, please just get in touch and let us know.”
Despite number restrictions, due to Covid-19, more than 50 children altogether will benefit from activities and events, with more planned in the coming months.
Oliver, who has attended sessions during the school holidays said: “I have had an amazing time, it definitely beats sitting at home and being bored.”
Demi, aged 10, also commented: “I love these activities. I wish I had come along before, now I’ve been and had such a good time I really want to come to everything.”
