Our homeless project given highest ranking by The City of Doncaster Council
We have been awarded Gold standard Supported Housing Improvement Programme (SHIP) by The City of Doncaster Council‘.
SHIP is a £20 million funding programme which aims to ensure supported housing provides safe and appropriate accommodation, delivers positive outcomes and provides value for money for the taxpayer.
An in-depth audit on our service found the highest positive move on for customers within all of Doncaster’s non-commissioned providers.
Other highlights include quality support planning, evidence of the customer journey, and that properties are of a high standard for vulnerable people, in line with Housing health and safety rating system (HHSRS).
Further to this, colleagues within the team felt valued and supported, customers were kept informed, received quality support and are aware of their housing need and options.
Over the last 12 months the team has support 48 customers to positively move on from accommodation.
Sam Archer, Homeless Services Team Leader at Ongo said: “We are thrilled to have not only been awarded, but at the highest level, and to be identified as the leading provider within the whole region is just fantastic.
“It’s a real testament to the incredible and life changing work the team do day in, day out. We are so passionate about helping those who need us the most, and seeing the difference this work has makes it all worthwhile.
“I’m excited to reflect on our success and look at next steps to continue improving and developing the service, to make sure it’s the best it can be.
“I’d like to each and every person involved for their hard work, passion and dedication which has enabled us to achieve this great standard. I am extremely proud of you all.”
