Ongo Recruitment increase local apprenticeships
Ongo Recruitment are celebrating National Apprenticeship week, after working with local business to get 23 young people into apprenticeships over the last year.
The week is organised by the National Careers Service, who coordinate the delivery of apprenticeships in England, and is dedicated to highlighting the positive impact the scheme has on businesses, individuals and the economy.
Despite many organisations being forced to close or change their way of working over the last 12 months, the team has worked tirelessly to make sure as many opportunities are available for young people as possible.
Roles have included health and medical staff, automotive technicians, office based staff and a range of roles in other industries, with all apprentices working towards a relevant qualification as part of their contract.
The recent government apprenticeship bonus scheme has boosted this number, and meant businesses could be eligible for up to £2,000 towards the costs of hiring apprentices. This has encouraged organisations to plan ahead with future skillsets and stay ahead of the game in terms of supporting their businesses through challenging circumstances.
Rich Green, Ongo Recruitment Manager said: “Apprenticeships are something we’ve put a huge focus on for many years now, and we can’t shout about them enough.
“They’re a fantastic option for everyone from school leavers to those further in their career wanting a change, and because of the structure of earning whilst you learn, they’re always very popular.
“Our team help businesses to access funding, advertise and fill vacancies, carry out payroll and HR duties, organise qualifications and provide ongoing support to individuals.
“If your business could benefit from an apprentice, or you’d like to find out more please get in touch with our team.”
