Ongo colleagues raise over £400 for Lindsey Lodge Hospice

A team of 14 Ongo colleagues took part in the Lindsey Lodge Hospice, ‘Glow Walk’ on Friday 8 September, raising over £400.

Lindsey Lodge Hospice, based in Scunthorpe, provide care for adults with life limiting illnesses and specialist palliative care. It is an organisation close to the hearts of many local people and one Ongo works closely with.

The family friendly event saw more than 500 people take to the streets in a five or 10-mile walk, and get involved in a pre-event fun, music warm up.

Walkers were also given the option to hold a memory lantern to remember loved ones, write a message or share memory photos.

To encouraged as many colleagues as possible to sign up, get active and support a great cause, we paid entry fees.

Amy Schoenmaker, Development Project Manager here at Ongo said: “I love to take part in the Glow Walk each year, the atmosphere is amazing, and everyone is so supportive. From families cheering you on at the roadside to cars passing and honking their horns.

“Having both the five and 10-mile options means people of all abilities can take part. However, the real reason I take part is to help raise much needed funds, so Lindsey Lodge Hospice can keep doing what they do best.

“They are a brilliant organisation and have provided care and support for some of my family in recent years, I would like to see them around for plenty more years to come.”
