Dine & Dance celebrates its tenth year
The tenth Dine & Dance took place on Wednesday 20 November, where over 75 tenants, aged 55 and over, attended for an afternoon of festive fun.
Held at Heslam Park in Scunthorpe, the event was completely free of charge.
Attendees enjoyed a delightful lunch, captured memories at the photo booth, and participated in lively games of bingo. The event also featured a heartwarming choir performance and singalong, a raffle with exciting prizes, and music that encouraged everyone to get up and dance or simply enjoy the atmosphere.
Tackling social isolation and getting people together was the aim of the event, and it gave tenants the chance to meet new people and spend time with friends and colleagues.
Wendy Wolfe, Customer Experience Manager said “It’s wonderful to see our tenants come together and enjoy themselves. Events like these are crucial for building a sense of community and combating loneliness. We’re thrilled to celebrate ten years of Dine & Dance and look forward to many more.”
Judith, a tenant who attended said: “The Dine and Dance is a great opportunity to meet other residents who don’t live in the area. It gives people the chance of meeting others who probably sit alone usually, and it’s nice to see how Ongo gives back to the community.”
Colin, a first-time attendee said: “I’ve really enjoyed the event, it’s my first time and it’s much better than sitting at home! I’m looking forward to dancing later”
Keith and Pam, regular attendees said: “The Dine and Dance is a great social event and it’s brilliant to see people you don’t always see. It’s great that Ongo puts on such an event. Ongo colleagues have excelled themselves this year, nothing is ever too much trouble. We enjoy coming each year and we really look forward to it.”
