Over 50 people attended a Christmas party held at the Viking Centre in Barton on Humber on Tuesday 18 December.

We worked in partnership with North Lincolnshire Council’s FaSST (Family Support Team) to host this event.

The event was free for families living in the area to attend and included a buffet, games, a disco and a visit to Santa. All children also received a present to take home.

Taking place from 4.30-6.30pm, the party aimed to get local families together for a fun, free evening for everyone to enjoy. This was just one of many events organised during 2018 for the whole community to get involved in.

Fran Rhodes, Community Regeneration Coordinator said: “This was our final event of the year at The Viking Centre and it was brilliant. There were so many families there enjoying the festivities and spending time with other people from the estate.

“We’d like to thank everyone that’s been involved with The Viking Centre over the last 12 months and making all our events and activities such a success. We’d also like to say a special thank you to Tesco and Barton Lions for their donations to our party.”

“We’ve got lots of exciting plans for 2019 and we hope to see lots of people continuing to get involved.”

Claire Henderson, FaSST Team Leader, said: “The party was a huge success, and to see the children and families that we support involved in festive fun together was wonderful.

“The children were so excited to see Santa and their parents and carers very grateful for the chance to make happy family memories’.
