Christmas light switch on at The Arc
On Friday 2 December The Arc in Westcliff, Scunthorpe held a Christmas light switch on to kick off their month of festive events.
250 local people attended, with festive treats available from the café, a chance to chat to colleagues about what goes on at The Arc and even a visit from some alpacas.
Jasmine Whitting, local resident attended the event: “I’ve been to the light switch on every year, and there’s lots of stuff happening and you don’t have to worry about the cost.
“It’s great for the kids and free too, our friends are here and everyone gets together as a community.
“If you’re thinking of visiting The Arc I definitely would. They’re reasonably priced for food and drink, the staff are friendly and there’s lots of stuff for the kids to do.”
There are more festive activities planned at The Arc in the run up to Christmas including breakfast with Santa, Christmas lunches and a festive treasure hunt.
Victoria Bradshaw, Activities & Families Coordinator, said “It’s brilliant to see such a good turnout again this year, we know it’s an event that the local community really enjoys and it’s nice to see lots of people getting together and feeling festive.
“It’s important to us to host events like this, not only to bring the community together, but also to introduce new people to The Arc that might not know what we do here or what support they can get from visiting us.
“We’ve got lots more planned and there’ll be loads going on in 2023 too, so if you’d like to know more why not call in and visit us to see what we do.”
