A free, family fun day out for all at the Ongo Carnival
One of the region’s largest, free events is back on Wednesday 2 August 2023 for the whole family to enjoy.
The Ongo Carnival will take place between 11am to 3.30pm at Manor Park in Scunthorpe, with thousands expected to attend.
With fairground rides, face painting, alpacas and friends, ponies, go karting, inflatables, soft play, circus workshops, sports and fun activities for all ages to get involved in, it’s a favourite of many.
Performances will take place throughout the day from local talent groups including Firestorm, Messingham Martial Arts, Field of Dreams Dog display, Aohk Entertainments, Kimberley Performing Arts and Pipers & Highland Dancers.
Each year the number attending increases, with teams at Ongo preparing for their busiest year yet.
Wendy Wolfe, Customer Engagement Manager at Ongo and event organiser said: “There is a huge buzz around the Ongo Carnival that has built over the years, and it’s brilliant to see.
“It means so much to us that we can provide a totally free day so that it’s open to everyone and families can come along and enjoy, without the worry of how much things cost.
“This year the event will be bigger and better than ever, with even more entertainment and new areas including a picnic zone. We can’t wait to see you there!”
Other agencies including NHS, Humberside Fire and Rescue, Humberside Police, North Lincolnshire Council, Samaritans, HSBC, Scunthorpe Rugby Club, Citizens Advice, Lindsey Lodge Hospice, Morrisons Foundation, MS Society,
Crosby Community Association, Westcliff Community Works, Fuelled Holiday project and many more will also be there.
