Apprentice recruitment drive
We have employed seven new apprentices as part of our latest round of recruitment.
The new apprenticeships are across various departments within our organisation, based in Housing Management, HR, Customer Services and in the Maintenance department.
All apprentices will receive on the job training, as well as a qualification relevant to their apprenticeship.
Mo Mathieson, Organisational Development Manager at Ongo, said: “It’s vital that businesses support the growth and development of young people, and here at Ongo we love to give people opportunities to have a great start to their career.
“We’ve had brilliant successes with many of our apprentices, with lots of them securing permanent positions here at Ongo or going on to employment in other organisations. This was why it was essential for us to recruit more apprentices. These people could be the future faces of Ongo so it’s great to be able to train them right at the beginning of their career.”
Leah Gillott, Marketing Assistant at Ongo, said: “I started my career in 2014 as an apprentice at Ongo. College wasn’t for me. I wanted to secure an apprenticeship so I could learn while earning a wage. I learnt so much during the two years as an apprentice and had lots of opportunities along the way. I gained the right skills and knowledge, that when a permanent position became available I could apply for it, and was successful in securing the role as Marketing Assistant.
