Easter intergenerational event

More than 40 of our retirement living tenants and youngsters from Little Imps nursery in Messingham came together for a morning of Easter fun for our latest intergenerational event.

The event, which took place at Messingham Village Hall on Thursday 22 March aimed to encourage older and younger people to spend time together and interact with one another. There were Easter themed games played, the nursery children performed an Easter concert and lunch was provided.

Steve Hepworth, Chief Executive Designate, said: “Reducing social isolation is really important to us, and these types of events are a brilliant way to do that. We’ve had really positive feedback from our tenants who loved spending time with the children; reading to them and joining in Easter games being played.

“This is something we’re definitely looking to continue across North Lincolnshire, and we want to get as many of our tenants involved as we can. We’re already planning the next event which we’re hoping to hold in summer.”

Deborah Gelder of Little Imps, said: “It was amazing to watch two different generations come together without any judgement or prejudice. I felt very privileged that we could be involved in this event.”

This was the second intergenerational event held by us, with the first happening in December 2017, where tenants were treated to a Christmas concert and festive themed games.
