Barton Big Tidy Up
We have teamed up with Barton-upon-Humber residents, Safer Neighbourhoods and Humberside Police to make improvements to the Caistor Road Estate.
On Thursday 23 June a Big Tidy Up event has been organised where general waste skips will be available for people to put in rubbish and bulky items.
Our caretaking team, housing officers and staff from Safer Neighbourhoods as well as PCSO’s from Barton Neighbourhood Policing Team will be on hand to help residents with litter picking, removing large waste items and generally improving the appearance of the area.
Jo Sylvester, Housing Officer for Barton-upon-Humber, said: “The Big Tidy Up is about getting the whole community together to help one another improve the area they live in.
“We arranged a similar event at Overton Court which made a big difference and allowed some residents a chance to get rid of items they were struggling to deal with. We also found lots of people willing to help one another with younger residents happy to do heavy lifting for some of the older people.
“We’d like people to spare whatever time they have to help, even if it’s just 15 minutes of litter picking, it can make a real difference.”
Coun Richard Hannigan, cabinet member for governance at North Lincolnshire Council, said: “North Lincolnshire Council very much supports the Big Tidy Up in Barton. It is a great example of everyone working together, residents, the council, Ongo Homes and the police.
“It aims to improve the Caistor Road Estate and instil a sense of pride in the area.
