Loss of water supply at Market Hill tower blocks

Loss of water supply at Market Hill tower blocks Image

Yesterday afternoon (8 January), the main pumps supplying water to the three tower blocks at Market Hill failed, this resulted in no running water being available to most of the flats.

We would first like to apologise for this, and we understand this is not an acceptable situation. We are working with the contractor responsible for the water supply United Living to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

Whilst this urgent work is being carried out by United Living, we will be providing bottled water which will be available from the concierge team. At times when concierge is closed or in the event they run out of bottled water, this can still be accessed via key fob from the launderette area.

Anyone who is concerned about an elderly or vulnerable tenant and is unable to reach them is urged to contact us on 01724 279900.

At the moment we cannot give specific information as to when this issue will be resolved, but as soon as we know more, we will let you know.

Thank you for your patience and we want you to be reassured that we are working on this with United Living to get it resolved as quickly as possible. Keep checking this page for updates on the situation.

Updates

10 Jan 10:00 We have had the engineer on site this morning and the software issue has now been resolved. Water has now been restored to all the flats at Market Hill, with the pumps being back to fully functioning automated mode.

We would like to apologise to all the tenants living at Market Hill for this huge inconvenience, and we would like to say thank you to everyone for their continued patience while we worked on the problems.

10 Jan 10:00: The engineer is currently on site working to fix the software problem at Market Hill. We are aiming to have this resolved today, and will add updates on here as soon as we have them.

9 Jan 15:30: Water supply at Market Hill will temporarily be made available from now until 9pm tonight. It will then be switched off overnight, and turned back on at 08.30am tomorrow (10 Jan). Due to a software fault, the water supply needs to be turned on manually and requires an engineer from United Living to be on site to check the water pressure while the supply is on. We are hopeful that we are able to maintain water supply from 08.30am tomorrow while urgent repairs are being carried out. We will update this page tomorrow morning.

9 Jan 13:15: All Market Hill residents have now received a letter and an apology
